Today, we talk about the idea of creation and the creativity that movies and other mediums produce. It is hard to create newer ideas and techniques because how many things today exists. Many people start out copying each other because they understand that the people who made great achievements had something or discovered something that allowed them to be creative. In order to be creative as the idols of each field was in, many people want to follow their example and legacy. Since there was always the first step of observation of the legacies and maybe even the adoption of the path these models took, many people seem to be imitating the original creators. However, it is important to look beyond the copying of techniques and ideas because the real genius is found when people can transform existing ideas and techniques. The creativity is then truly expressed when old ideas and new ideas are both combined to create a new concept together. Today, it is easy to see this method to find creative ideas via the mediums that exist today. Many movies copy ideas and camera techniques from previous directors. An example of this is superhero movies, where it was common previously to have the good guy always be the focal point of their film. The ending would always end with the good guy prevailing against the villain. However, many new ideas were added onto that concept as time went on. Ideas like having an anti hero or even a villain as the main protagonist of the film, or having the villain prevail against the hero, or even how the hero is never fighting a true villain, like fighting an internal battle within him or herself. These concepts are common in today's movie world, but back then, it was not very common to see. These films end up being a remix from the past, since they all stem from the simple concepts of good versus bad. Mediums like music and games are very hard to be creative in, as they are all inherently copying from previous iterations of their form. Games all have an interface, a main game mechanic, such as combat or puzzle games, and other variables that all games just share. Music is always played with the same instruments, each with a myriad number of ways it can be played. These mediums are tied to just a concept where they cannot be different drastically, unless a new form of games appear or a new instrument is made to create new sounds. It is hard to be creative and original today, but that challenge is what allows people to advance and become more innovative as technology progresses.
